Surrounded by lush green forests, Touphema Village was an initiative by the local people and the Tourism Department of Nagaland to showcase the heritage and cultural wealth of the state. It offers an opportunity to the tourists to live here and be treated to the customs, traditions, and practices of the tribal people. It is a beautiful village with a small Naga style cottages where tourists can spend a night. The initial summer months in Touphema are quite pleasant and the heat is bearable. The absence of extreme heat makes it possible for tourists to explore and move around. For rain and nature lovers it is one of the best times to explore Touphema which is nestled in the lap of nature. The rain drench surroundings have a beauty of their own. Winter sets in the month of November and lasts till February. This is considered to be the best time for exploring Touphema village and getting a feel of the Naga way of life. The absence of incessant rains makes traveling and sightseeing easier. The skies clear up and there is not much humidity either. The temperature stays in a comfortable range and is neither extremely cold nor hot. The slight chill in the air is enjoyable and makes a visit truly worth it.
