Santorini is an island synonymous with Romance & Fun. Known for its mesmerising cliff views, sunsets and blue waters. The weather at Santorini is mild throughout the year, but the best time to visit would be between April and September when the days are warmer and longer. Plenty of festivals and events take place, especially between July and September. The whole city is buzzing with tourists and students who come to the Island to take up summer jobs since the entire economy of the Island is mainly Tourism. Spring is a popular time to visit Santorini. The weather hits a low of 11°C and a peak of 22°C in these months. There is a chance of rain on a few days but nothing to put you off. You can enjoy 11 hours of daylight which gives you plenty of time to do a lot of sightseeing and enjoy the beaches.

Some religious feasts are celebrated during this season. Easter is a big celebration that happens in April every year and particularly the village of Pyrgos is a wonderful place to experience it. The feast of Agia Theodosia is celebrated every 29th of May in Akrotiri village.

The summer season at Santorini is jam-packed with tourists. In fact, college students from Athens and other mainland cities come over to the island to work during the summer months at resorts and other jobs, because it is a highly busy season. The weather is definitely suitable as the water is warm, the winds are just right and you can expect clear skies. The average day temperature is between 23°C and 29°C.

Some of the festivals that take place during these months are the Santorini Jazz Festival at Kamari in July and Megaro Gyzi Festival at Fira in August and the Aegean Regatta also in August. There are many religious festivities all throughout July and August.

Throughout September, the weather is blissful with cool winds and cool waters along with a strong sun and long days. However, from October onwards, things start to wind down. The weather gets cooler and the buzzing around town slows down. Many resorts close down between October and March. The average temperature is 24°C in September but goes down to 16°C by November.

Some important festivals during this season are the Ifestia Festival in September, the International Music Festival also in September. Some of the religious festivities include Feast of Panagia Episkopi, Feast of Agios Averkios and others.

The winter months at Santorini are mild with average temperatures of 12°C. The weather is good enough to go sightseeing and even boat trips. Though swimming in the beaches may not be the most tempting. It isn't as crowded as the other months, so there is a tendency of getting better hotels and better rates. However, a lot of hotels are shut down during the winter period because there are fewer tourists. You can expect a few days of rain during winter.
