One of the most famous tourist spots in Almora is the Zero Point lookout, situated in the Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary. It can be found almost 33 km away from Almora and offers jaw dropping views of the Himalayan peaks. Especially on a clear day, visitors can get some incredible photographs of the surrounding beauty or just soak in the majesty of the mountains. Visitors are recommended to carry binoculars if possible.

2 km away from the Almora city center, this lookout spot is a huge tourist draw for it’s amazing views of the sunrise and sunset. The point also has a library dedicated to Swami Vivekananda. Visitors can enjoy the sunlight glowing over the town, almost resembling a painting.

Jageshwar Temple

This temple is said to be a part of the 12 Jyotirlingas dedicated to Lord Shiva, and can be found along the Jata Ganga stream, encircled by dense oak and pine forestland. It draws inspiration from the Buddhist style of architecture and design. This ancient site looks magical during the monsoon season. It is open to the public between 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM.

Kasar Devi Temple

Created way back in 2nd century AD, this temple can be found 5 km away from Almora, in the quaint hilltop town of Kasar Devi. The town has been visited by notable celebrities and pilgrims alike over the years. It offers stunning views of the Himalayas and Hawabagh Valley from the Bandarpunch Peak. Every year during the winter, a massive festival is held inside the temple.

Katarmal Sun Temple

Lakhudiyar
