The Vadodara station is 33 meters above the sea level and falls in the western division of the Indian Railways. It is about 400 km away from the financial capital of the country - Mumbai, 100 km away from the state capital - Gandhinagar, and about a 1000 km away from the national capital - Delhi.

 

Vadodara Junction is about 8 km away from Vadodara Airport. It’s a major railway station that has 7 platforms and about 385 trains (including Rajdhani, Duronto, Shatabdi, and Garib Rath) have their stoppages here. The travel time is between 5 to 6 hours From Mumbai in premium trains such as Rajdhani and around 8 hours and above in express and other mail passenger trains.

 

Also, 20 trains originate from the Vadodara station to other states and cities and 20 trains terminate here. Vadodara Airport offers both domestic and international flights to other cities and countries. It falls under the management of the Airport Authority of India. Daily there are about 22 flights taking off from Vadodara Airport. There are direct flights from Mumbai, Delhi, and other metro cities. Again, there are multiple options if you want to reach Vadodara through flights.

 

The travel time is just about 1 hour and 10-15 minutes from Mumbai and 1 hour 30 minutes from Delhi. So it’s much quicker to reach by flight. Tickets can be booked easily from any air ticket booking website and the cost of the ticket varies depending upon the airline and your travel plan.

Getting around in Vadodara is easy. It’s a big city and you have multiple options to visit tourist places. Local transport mainly consists of city buses and auto-rickshaws (three-wheelers) which are cheap can be availed easily.
