Guru Ghasidas National Park has tropical climate where the summers are absolutely very hot. Temperatures during this time range from 42°C in the daytime to a low of 30°C in the night. Although the nights are cooler than the days, the winds are still very warm. This is not the most recommended time to visit Guru Ghasidas National Park, but since it is open all year round, people visit anyway. If you camp around the forest, in the night you can see animals trying to drink out of water bodies around the place. Due to summers being hot and dry, people usually get tired sooner and cannot explore the place properly.

After the heat of the summer, the monsoon season comes in with a lot of enthusiasm. Rains in this region are a lot and this is when the landscape of the national park looks prettier than ever. Temperatures during this time range from 28°C in the day time to 21°C in the night and it is accompanied by thunderstorms, lots of rain and a very cool and pleasant atmosphere. This is the second best season to visit the park after winter due to the lovely weather. The region gets about 1400 mm of rain every year during this time and the park looks even more abundant with lush greenery. If you don’t mind the rain, this is a great time to visit.

Coming to the best season to visit Guru Ghasidas National Park, the winter! One of the most pleasant seasons in this region is winter that last from the last week of October all the way to March. Temperatures during winter time range from 20°C in the day time to 12°C in the night. Some winters are brutal and temperatures may go down further to 10°C or even 8°C. These temperatures are quite low and it is recommended to wear light woolen clothes to protect one self. This is a time of the year when the air is cold, pleasant and perfect to explore the park and its wildlife. Also during this time there is much more wildlife activity than the other two seasons, hence it is the recommended time to come.
