The closest airport to this national park is Lal Bahadur Shastri Airport in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh; the airport is distanced at 298 km from the center of the reserve. You can find cabs outside the airport that will take you to the national park in about 7.5 hours. The next close airport is Jabalpur Airport, also known as Dumna Airport in Madhya Pradesh which is 363 km from the reserve and is a 9 hour journey. You can also take a flight to Birsa Munda Airport in Ranchi, Jharkhand to reach Guru Ghasidas National Park. If you want to land in the state of Chhattisgarh, you can always take a flight to Swami Vivekananda Airport ion Raipur, which is distanced at 474 km and takes almost 11 hours to reach.

Since Guru Ghasidas National Park is quite a famous tiger reserve in the state, there are several roads leading up to the place. You can easily drive up there or can take buses run by the government and privately as well. The national park is 300 km from Jabalpur and 400 km from Raipur and the roads can be easily driven on. The roads are beautiful and makes for a lovely road trip. But if you don’t want to drive, you can always take state run buses operated by CSRTC that will easily take you to the national park. You can also get private buses going to the reserve from adjacent states; these buses will take you there at a much cheaper cost and it is quite comfortable as well.

Therefore the closest railhead to this national park is Ambikapur Railway Station in the Surguja district of Chhattisgarh. This railway station is located at a distance of 257 km from the national park and is the closest one. Once you get off at the station, you can find cabs or buses that will take you directly to the national park within 7 hours. Other than this railway station, you can also take the Bilaspur Railway Station in Bilaspur, distanced at 361.9 km from the park to reach it. Getting around inside a national park is hassle free most of the times due to the national park having its own transportation resources. Even in Guru Ghasidas National Park, the best way to get around is by riding the safari jeeps provided by the national park. Usually these jeeps are accompanied by a driver who also acts as a guide and will show you around the park.
