Bomdila is considered as one of the best destinations in Arunachal Pradesh. It is cozily nestled at the foothills of Himalaya and is surrounded by beautiful meadows. It was built in 1965, and it is considered to be a copy of Tsona Gontse Monastery, Tibet. Bomdila Monastery belongs to Mahayana Buddhism. There is a Buddha temple inside the Monastery which is very beautiful. Recently they have added a huge meditation hall in the monastery.

It is also called the temple of Orchid. You can find orchids of almost all size, colour, and shape with more the 2500 cultivated orchids of 80 different species spread over 100 km with a lush green background. It is a treat to the eyes and soul; you should never miss this place when you are in Bomdila. 

You want to see nature at its best then this is where you should go - the Apple Orchards. Since the weather is ideal for apple cultivation, Bomdila has many apple orchards. In winter, these trees are full of glowing apples and are such pretty sights; make it a point not to miss it.

Do you want to experience the best scenic beauty? Then this is the place for you. You can experience the larger than life Himalayas all around, the beautiful view of the Kemeng Valley, the humming of birds, gushing of rivers and the serene beauty of the greenery, which is totally enticing.

It is near Sessa Orchid Sanctuary and it covers an area of 215 km. It is home to more than 450 species of birds like the Cormorans, Herons, Black Stork, Oriental White Ibis, Ducks, Hawks, Eagles, Quails, Tragopan, Cuckoos, Woodpeckers, etc. Many animals are also found here like the Black Bear, Red Panda, Bengal tiger, langur etc. You can also see the Kameng River flowing through the beautiful meadows.

It is a beautiful valley that lies between Bomdila and Tawang. This is a place for you if you love trekking. This valley has many trekking trails which will take you to the highest peak in Dirang. The view from the peak is enchanting. Dirang is also famous for hot water springs which fall to the Dirang River from nearby hills. The locals say that the water has curative power. Dirang Valley also has many apple orchards.
