Negombo is a seaside city in Sri Lanka. The weather in Negombo is similar to that of South India. With dry & oppressive weather through the year, the town experiences rainfall rarely, and that too in the months of May or August. Tourism in the town is at its peak in July, August, and January, when the flights and hotels will be expensive. Tourists trickle in barely in March, making it dull for tourism.

The months from March through May see scarce rainfall with barely 3 days of rain a month. The season is hence dry, making Spring the slowest time for tourism and an opportune time to strike some good travel deals! This is hence a shoulder season and a hidden gem of a time to enjoy your vacation.

The mid of the year is fairly pleasant with warm high temperatures and no rainfall, making June through August the busiest time and the best season to visit Negombo. Summer hence marks the high season, with loads of crowds clamouring for the best spots on the beaches. If you are okay with the hustle bustle and noise then this is the time to visit. 

The temperatures on the higher side range between 30.7°C to 29.6°C during the fall season, with rain or snowfall occurring normally, ie., between a day to 5 every month. September, October and November are pretty slow for incoming tourist traffic hence. This is also the shoulder season, advised for budget travellers and peace seekers.

Weather from December to February is the best for the winter travellers to Negombo, with the average temperature on the higher side, oscillating between 32.1°C and 29.8°C. The rains or snow are next to zero, barely once a month, making it the second-best time to visit Negombo.
