Nagaland has one airport located in Dimapur and the airport closest to Mokokchung is in Jorhat in Assam. Jorhat Airport, also known as Rowriah Airport is located 112 km from Mokokchung district and Dimapur Airport is located 212 km away. Jorhat is well connected by flights from Kolkata and Guwahati which enjoy great air connectivity with the rest of the country. Those traveling from other cities can take a connecting flight from Kolkata or Guwahati to reach Jorhat. From Jorhat tourists can book a taxi or cab to reach Mokokchung.

Mokokchung does not have a railway station and has to depend upon MarianiStation in Assam for rail connectivity. The railway station is located 85 km from Mukokchung and can be reached by booking a taxi or cab. Mariani Junction Railway Station is a major junction in Jorhat district. Dibrugarh Rajdhani Express, Kamrup Express, Dibrugarh-Chennai Egmore Express, Brahmaputra Mail, new Tinsukia-Bangalore Weekly Express etc. pass through Mariani junction.

As Mokokchung does not have an airport or a station, tourists have to depend primarily on road transportation to reach the district. The town lies close to NH 61 which helps to connect Kohima in Nagaland with Jhanji in Assam. The roads are well developed making movement by road easy and enjoyable. The roads are lined with green trees and surrounded by stunning scenic beauty. A cab or taxi ride through these roads can be quite a stunning experience. Buses also regularly operate from big cities like Jorhat, Guwahati and others to and from Mokokchung. Buses are a cheaper mode of transportation.
