Chitrakoot in MP is located in Satna district. It is a famous pilgrimage destination and relevant because of both cultural and historical reasons. Geographically Chitrakoot is divided between the two states of MP and UP. Chitrakoot is known since ancient times because of being the home of Lord Rama, Sita and Laxman during the period of their exile. Chitrakoot is well connected by road with Allahabad and Kanpur besides Satna, Banda and Jhansi. There are state run buses from these cities to Chitrakoot. One could also hire taxis. Allahabad is 135km while Varanasi is 275km from Chitrakoot. The road drive to Chitrakoot is very scenic and beautiful. 

A train journey to Karvi would be very convenient since you will need to travel only a short hop of 8km by a taxi to reach your destination. One could also detrain at Chitrakoot Dham which lies on the main line between Jhansi and Manikpur. This line is very well connected with all the major cities in the country.

Chitrakoot does not have its own airport. However, one could take a flight from Allahabad airport which is 135km away, Khajuraho airport 175km away or Varanasi airport that is 275km away from Chitrakoot. There are buses as well as taxis that one could take in order to make it to Chitrakoot.

Autorickshaws and E Rickshaws are available in good numbers in Chitrakoot. It is possible to hire buses and taxis also.
