Auli Weather And Best Time To Visit Auli
Planning A Trip To Auli? Here's a snapshot of Auli weather and the best time to visit Auli
Auli is a skiing resort in the Garhwal Hills of Uttarakhand, covered in snow all year round, naturally in some months, artificially in others. That makes this place a tourist destination all year round. But the best time to visit Auli is from January to April, when the snow is perfectly textured, powdered and thick for skiing. Various championships and festivals are also organised locally around this time of the year. However, for those willing to do more sightseeing, the summer season is ideal for its bright bloom of flowers and trees in the area.
Summer (April-June)

Summers are pleasant here with temperatures ranging from 7-20°C. The average maximum temperature ever recorded here is 20 °C. It is an ideal time for sightseeing as the white mountains and summits bloom with thick green covers of pines, deodars and oaks. The sun is warm in cool air and the place is filled with tourists as it is also the vacation season. The Badri Kedar festival celebrated in June ensures that a lot of pilgrims stop at Auli or Joshimath on their trip to Kedarnath.
If you are looking at a chill, leisure holiday, filled with lots of lazing around and sightseeing then this is the THE time.
Monsoon (July-September)

Auli receives moderate rainfall through the Indian Monsoon Season. The Valley Of Flowers is one major attraction during monsoon as the flowers are in full bloom and become a pretty sight. Also, the area is crowded with Badrinath and Kedarnath pilgrims, milling in and around Auli because September is the month of Mata Murti ka mela at Badrinath Temple. You are welcome at this festival or you can trek through the Valley of Flowers; in either case, Auli's arms are wide open even through the rains.
Winter (October-February)

Winter marks the peak season to enjoy skiing in Auli. The snowfall begins by November and continues to line the hills and slopes until the snow becomes fine and powdered. By January, the texture is perfect to carpet the land for skiing, almost 3 m deep. The temperatures in winter can fall as low as -2°C and do not go above 10°C. The end of winter and beginning of summer (January to April) is ideally considered the best time to visit Auli as major skiing festivals and championships are organised during these months.
