By Air:
Reach Whitsunday Islands fastest via Air. You'll not find a direct flight from India, but you can book a flight to Australia and then take a domestic flight from any major city of Australia. There are two main airports in Whitsundays - Great Barrier Reef Airport (14 km away from Whitsundays) and Whitsunday Coast Airport (20 km away from Whitsundays). It takes 1/2 an hour from Cairns, 1.5 hours from Brisbane, 2 hours from Sydney and 3 hours from Adelaide to reach Whitsundays.
By Road:
Bruce Highway connects all the important cities of Queensland with Whitsunday Islands. This central coast of Queensland can be reached via Road but it takes a little more time. Greyhound Australia is the major bus operator in Australia which can be booked to reach Whitsunday Islands or Airlie Beach. If you're willing to explore on your own, then hire a rental car to reach Whitsundays via road.
By Water:
Once you reach any airport of Whitsunday Islands, you can then take a ferry or yacht to reach your desired destination. Many operators offer hourly commute from Hamilton Island to other destinations. It takes 20 mins to an hour to reach various destinations of Whitsunday Islands through waterways. You can also hire a yacht or ferry all by yourself and take around anywhere in Whitsundays.
