The spring season that starts in the month of March and continues till May, is one of the best seasons to visit Palermo. With spring coming in, the landscapes in the region start to burst with greenery and blossoming flowers. Temperatures during this time range from 16°C (60°F) in the night to 26°C (80°F) during the day time in the months of March and April. As the season progresses, the month of May sees higher temperatures and the region gets ready for summer. At this time, Palermo also sees a lot of rain with the sea temperatures rising simultaneously. This is a great time to visit the city due to cooler temperatures.

With the onset of summer, Palermo becomes warmer and temperatures rise; in the day the temperatures rise to an average high of 30°C (87°F) and a low of 20°C (68°F). If you like to hike, this is a great time to visit Palermo; the Pellegrino hike is a good one to do when you visit the city in summers. However, the Scirocco winds also bring a good amount of rainfall to this region which is accompanied by thunderstorms. July is the time when both the sea and land become warm and is the best time to go swimming in the beaches of Palermo. The temperatures drop slightly with the onset of autumn. The month of September sees reduced temperatures that range from 27°C (81°F) in the day to 12°C (54°F) in the night. It is the time when vineyards begin their harvest and is best time to go wine tasting. The crowd gets lesser, and the sea still remains warm which also makes it one of the best times to visit. The season also makes the region vibrant with its beautiful colours on trees and vineyards. The amount of sunlight throughout the day reduces and nights become a little chilly. This time of the year also sees a little bit of rain and thunderstorms.

The winter season in Palermo is quite unpredictable and may change at any time. It is advised to always carry a jacket while you are in the city in this season. Snow is rare and it is never freezing cold, but sometimes you may find a cool wind blowing. Temperatures during this season range from 17°C (63°F) in the daytime to 6°C (42°F) in the night. If you are fond of a cooler weather, this is a great time to visit as it is not too crowded and the weather is absolutely pleasant. January is the coldest month of the year and some winters may be colder than usual.
