Unlike most of the regions of West Bengal, including Siliguri which experiences extremely harsh and scorching summer, Mirik is an exception owing to its unique geographical location. The altitude of the town makes summers quite pleasant and enjoyable with summer temperatures not exceeding 30°C mark. The skies are clear, air is clean allowing a majestic viewing of the great Himalayan ranges. Temperatures tend to dip post sunset hence it is recommended to carry some light woollens to keep warm. It is a great time for visiting Mirik and escaping the terrible heat of the plains.
