The fastest way to reach Tezpur from New Delhi is to fly at an estimated fare of INR 7,000 that takes about 6 hours and 40 minutes and then you can hail a cab to travel to any part of the city, however we recommend a flight from New Delhi to Jorhat with a travel time of 4 ½ hours by flight and then the onward journey to Tezpur by Taxi, which would have you in the city in about 2 hours and 26 minutes. Flights operating on this route include Indigo Airlines, Vistara, and Air Asia. The estimated flight fare for New Delhi-Jorhat is INR 8,500.

Tezpur is well connected to all of the major cities in Assam, so if you’re planning to travel by train to Tezpur from New Delhi, then there’s a train twice a week from the Anand Vihar Train Station to Rangapara North which takes about 34 hours and a few minutes at an estimated fare of INR 900 and the onward journey to Tezpur can be made in about ½ hour by Taxi. Alternatively, you can take an overnight train from New Delhi to Guwahati and then travel by road to Tezpur or a train from New Delhi to Dibrugarh and then travel by road to Tezpur.

If you prefer traveling by road, then a bus journey from New Delhi to Gorakhpur is the best way to reach closer to Tezpur and then take a train from Gorakhpur to Rangapara North, after which it is just a 29-minute drive by taxi to Tezpur.
There’s a bus every 10 minutes from Super Bazar, Delhi to Anand Vihar ISBT Terminal, from where you walk down to the Kausambi Bus Terminal and take a bus to Gorakhpur (Frequency: 4 times a day) which takes about 11 ½ hours. There’s a train twice a week from Gorakhpur to Rangapara North with a travel duration of roughly 23 hours. In comparison to other travel options, traveling by road can be really taxing and is hence best avoided.
