How To Reach Langkawi
Planning A Trip To Langkawi? Here are some guidelines on how to reach Langkawi
99 islands come together off the coast of Malaysia and become Langkawi. It is a rich tropical land, oozing great sights, pristine waterways and interesting activities. Not to forget all the duty free shopping. Since this is a group of islets, reaching Langkawi is only possible by air or water. Or you can swim to the mainland if you are up to it!

The Airport at Langkawi also receives direct flights from London, Osaka and Taipei. The frequent airlines are Air Malaysia and Air Asia. The International Airport is 20 km from Langkawi.

Four routes connect to Langkawi through ferries - Kuala Kedah, Kuala Perlis, Penang and also Satun (Thailand). If you are feeling adventurous just swim across the mainland!
For those looking at sea routes, Langkawi is a regular port for many Passenger Cruise Ships. They have a long line of places they dock at, including Langkawi for a day. Star Cruises has its own pier where its ships dock. Most of the other big ships also dock here.

Langkawi has a fine network of roads. Getting by using rented bikes, motorcycles or cars is easy. Taxis are also an option because they do not bargain or run by meter but are booked systematically on a counter. The driving pace here is slow and you will hardly find traffic. Most tourists though prefer to book themselves in with a local tour (inclusive of taxi travel).
