Digha does not have an airport and the closest one is Netaji Shubhash Chandra Bose International Airport in Kolkata. This however does not pose any problem as travellers can book taxis or cars to reach Digha. Alternately they can also take a bus or a connecting train to reach the seaside from Kolkata.

Digha Railway Station is located near New Digha in the Purba Medinipur district of West Bengal. It is very well connected by trains to Kolkata and other parts of the country. Tamralipta Express, Kandari Express, Duranto Express are some other the major trains that ply between Kolkata and Digha. Apart from these there are local trains that do not require prior reservations. People from outside the state can reach Howrah/Sealdah and take a connecting train to Digha. From the station tourists can take rickshaws, autos or taxis to reach their hotels.

Digha is well connected by roads with Kolkata and neighboring towns and cities. There are bus services operating regular trips to and from Digha. They are economical means of transport and take around 4 hours. Private and government buses have buses leaving from Esplanade area in Kolkata. Burdwan, Madhupur and Sahispur are among the major stops along this route.

Commuting in Digha is easy. There are cycle-vans that are available everywhere and transport people to different areas including the beach. Motor vans are used to travel distant places from Digha like Shankarpur, Mandarmoni etc. Apart from these private cars can be hired from the hotels to visit tourist destinations in and around Digha. Cycle-vans are however fun and ensure an enjoyable ride.
