Bhandardara is a village nestled along the Sahyadri mountain ranges. Bhandardara is located in the district of Ahmednagar and is close to the tourist destinations of Igatpuri. Home to a number of beautiful and natural sightseeing places, Bhandardara is one of the significant travelers’ destinations of Maharashtra. Bhandardara lies about 45 km from the city of Akole, by itself a charming region that is surrounded by the Western Ghats.
Bhandardara is about 165 km from the capital city of Mumbai, about 202 km from Pune, 60 km from Kasara, while Nashik at about 60 km is the closest urban city to Bhandardara. The ideal way to reach Bhandardara would be by rail.

The closest airport is the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport at Mumbai that has domestic flights to Chennai, Thiruvananthapuram, New Delhi, Jammu, Bhopal, Belgaum, Raipur, Kolkata and Bengaluru as well as international flights to Bangkok, Zurich, Hong Kong, Kuala Lampur, Singapore and Dubai.
From Mumbai you could board a train to Igatpuri and continue your journey to Bhandardara by road or you could book a cab straight to Bhandardara. Nashik Airport at about 91 km, has domestic flights to cities like Ahmedabad, Hyderabad and Pune. A cab could be hired from Nashik Airport to Bhandardara.

The nearest rail head is the Igatpuri Railway Station. Igatpuri has several long distance trains that halt at the railway station, so you have a good choice of trains to opt for from many cities across the country. There are trains like Howrah Mail or Mahanagari Express from Mumbai, the Pune Manmad Express from Pune and the Vasco da Gama- Patna Express that comes in to Igatpuri from Nashik.
There are trains that connect Igatpuri to cities like Hyderabad, Agra, Mathura, Faridabad, New Delhi, Firozpur, Chennai, Thiruvananthapuram and Bengaluru etc. From the Igatpuri railway station you could hire a taxi or board a state transport bus to Bhandardara.

Igatpuri is the nearest transport city that is connected to Bhandardara from other major cities. MSRTC buses connect Thane, Nashik and Mumbai and a single service from Pune to Igatpuri and from thereon to Bhandardara. If you are in Igatpuri or Kasara, you could board a regular state transport (st) bus to Bhandardara or hire an auto rickshaw to the hill station.
You could even drive to Bhandardara from Mumbai on the Mumbai – Nashik Highway or Nashik on the NH 3 Nashik Expressway, or you would find plenty of cabs or shared jeeps that can be hired to drop you off at Bhandardara.

As Bhandardara is a holiday resort hill, you might not find vehicles for local transport. If you are staying in a resort, a cab might be arranged on request. But since Bhandardara is all about a picturesque landscape, with lakes, dams and gently rolling slopes broken by waterfalls, tourists would prefer exploring the countryside on foot.
Bhandardara is a small hill station, with lush greenery and is one of the best preferred short vacation trip and apart from the local buses that drive in from Igatpuri, there are no transport facilities as such. If you have driven to Bhandardara, you could use your own vehicle to drive around the region.
