Antalya Weather And Best Time To Visit Antalya
Planning A Trip To Antalya? Here's a snapshot of Antalya weather and the best time to visit Antalya
Antalya is known for its turquoise waters, rich history and panoramic views. This seaside city of Turkey has been attracting visitors for centuries. From being a flourishing Roman City in the ancient world to now being a modern-day sea-resort, it has still preserved a glimpse of its past through the museums, archaeological sites and beautiful Ottoman architecture. The weather in Antalya is not very extreme, but the summers do get quite hot and the winters can sometimes witness snowfall. The most ideal time to visit Antalya is between April and October as the weather is pleasant throughout the day and there are a lot of fun events and activities that will make you want to come back for more.

During the spring months, the weather is fresh with temperatures ranging from 15°C to 21°C in April. The temperature of the water averages 18°C which makes it perfect for watersports. You can enjoy activities like snorkelling, windsurfing, scuba diving and rafting. It can get crowded during Easter holidays, but other than that, it is still a great time to enjoy good weather along with good activities.

If sunbathing is your thing, then the summertime is perfect. However, being peak season, you may find the beaches overcrowded and without any privacy. July & August are the hottest months of the year and the average temperature is around 30°C. The chances of rain are also least during the summer months, although overall, Antalya experiences lesser rain with only about 77 days of rain throughout the year.
Every year in May, Antalya hosts a Flower Festival and it is a colourful affair. The flowers are planted by local residents who compete against each other at the festival. They also put up many exhibitions and floral processions. There are also many music and cultural festivals that take place in June, July & August.
Autumn (September to November)

The temperature can range between 18°C to 25°C in October which makes for a pleasant stay. There is a chill in the air and the water starts to get cold, but it creates a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. The cold winter air from the north is not as swift here as it gets blocked off by the Taurus Mountain range which borders Antalya. It is fairly off-season at this point, so there are higher chances of getting good discounts at hotels.
Golden Orange is a respectable and important film festival in Turkey which is held in October every year. Other events held in October include the festival of sand on the beach of Lara and also the International Mediterranean Music Festival.
Winter (December to February)

Winters can get quite cold with the temperature going down to as low as 1°C. The beach water is cold and does not make for an ideal dip. While you are less likely to experience snow, there are more chances of rain during these months. Since it is off-season, there aren't many events that take place during this period, but there are some winter-sports activities that can be enjoyed.
