Rangeet River

A tributary of the Teesta River, which is the largest in Sikkim, Rangeet River is the site for all major water sports that form the highlight of taking a trip to Jorethang. Originating in the Himalayas, it flows through the towns of Jorethang and Pelling, and also has a hydel power plant driven by its turbulent waters.
One of the most notable features of the river is the Aakaar suspension bridge constructed across the stream that is frequently used by visitors for sightseeing and crossing to either side. A little distance ahead lies the Sisne Mandir, a small Shiva temple that is another highly visited monument close to the river.
