The most beloved spiritual landmark in the city, the Notre Dame Cathedral was created by French colonizers between the period of 1863 - 1880. A figurine of Virgin Mary is found at the front of the cathedral, which continues to be one of the best places to visit in the city.

Built initially in 1909 by a refugee Cantonese group, with design stretching back to the 20th century, the Jade Emperor Pagoda is a hidden gem. Popularly known as Turtle Pagoda for the turtle fishpond outdoor, it is a highly significant shrine. This beautiful red temple complex has a mysterious and alluring atmosphere which draws in both local and international tourists to seek blessings from the Jade Emperor.
