Summers in Guwhati are hot and humid with temperatures ranging between 30°C-40°C. While mornings are sultry, summer evenings in the city are quite pleasant. The major attraction during these months is the Rongali or Bohag Bihu that is celebrated in April. Bihu is the major festival observed and celebrated in Assam and Bohag Bihu is one of the three that is held every year. It is preferable however not to make travel plans during summer as it would be difficult to explore the city under the scorching sun.
