I was invited to speak in a conference in Colombo and that is where it all started. I thought this is an opportunity to visit few places in Colombo. My office staff got into act and booked a hotel for me. Later on, I decided to take my wife along. Then few booking and rebooking followed. And thanks to internet, we felt we booked the best hotels we could.

Then the destiny played out a game. I told one of my friends that I will be out of Mumbai for a week and I will be in Colombo. Once he heard the itinerary, he laughed and told that he will introduce me to Ravi Rupasinghe. Then the real tour emerged.

Ravi spoke to me once to understand our preference and crafted an itinerary for us. He also send us the teasers of the hotels that he was planning to book for us. In a sense, he took complete control of our trip and insisted that we at least cover specific areas like Sigiriya, Dambula, Elephant Safari, Kandy and Bentota along with Colombo. We were wondering whether we will be able to cover all these and how to reschedule on the fly, if required. He reassured that the driver accompanying us is well versed with the places and he will be able to replan if required. So set off to Colombo hoping for the best.

The welcome we received from our chauffeur cum guide Mr. Inoon at the airport was overwhelming. His demeanour made us think that he is a part of us. He was well-versed with the locations and never left us alone even for a moment anywhere.

We realized that the hotels that were booked were superb and properly selected by Ravi based on our preference. In fact, he also gave us a free upgrade to an apartment at Colombo. While we moved out of Colombo, Inoon gave us an envelope and told us it is given by Ravi Sir. It was a travel memento where in our photo is printed on a slate. Amazing and memorable gift...

The guides who came to accompany us at various places could explain us the significance of each location in detail. So we felt as if we were living in those places.

On the way back, we were wondering what we planned by ourself and what Ravi planned and how stupid we were in what we had planned. The best part of Ravi is his on ground knowledge of Srilanka and the way he connected that to our expectations.

One thing we noticed was Ravi was in constantly checking the tour progress with Inoon. We could see Ravi's personal involvement and concern for our comfort all through the tour.

The overall experience right from the pick up from airport, the travel, the stay and drop back to airport was one of the wonderful and perhaps beyond what words can express.

When we were planning a trip to Sri Lanka, my partner remembered an old favourite student, Ravi Rupasinghe. I think he can help us arrange this trip. We contacted him and found that he does this professionally. Our holiday began with this wonderful serendipity and things only kept getting better. Ravi designed a complete holiday for us - pristine beaches, national parks, Buddhist temples, meetings with dolphins, tuskers and turtles, and gourmet Sri Lankan food everywhere. Inoon who chauffeured us for these exquisite nine days was truly amazing and the guides who met us at various locations, funds of information. I have already recommended Lanka Tours, Ravi’s company, to all my friends and family. This is one of the best holidays of our lives so the least I can do is share the information with everyone.

Ravi and his team was introduced to us. When I contacted Ravi and requested for his assistance to arrange his itinerary, there was some apprehension from him...after all we were doing it during the week when its the Sinhala/Tamil New Year. However Ravi still undertook our request and he arranged a superb experience that brought tears to my 84 year old father (I kid you not). The accommodation was very well especially at The Thinnai and Sigiraya Jungle. However Ravi gave a lot of options with pro/cons with his selection of accommodation. He even offered a beautiful bungalow in Colombo with a cook instead of a service apartment (however we opted not to because we just spending a day in Colombo). The vehicle was superb...pristine condition and the driver aka Inoon was the best I have come across. Inoon is a very humble, pleasant, patient and polite person and if you travel with elderly, please ask Ravi to arrange Inoon as the driver. Only thing Inoon needs is co-pilot who can read Google Map and tell him where to go! Lastly...let me share Ravi's lengths for customer success and experience:

a. He texts me in Jaffna and he asks me whether I'm doing fine and whether I need a local guide (cost USD 15.00 for an entire day). I declined because my dad was familiar with the area.

b. I text Ravi and say that the Internet is dead in my service apartment. He follows up for us and come to understand that this will be only fixed next day. So what Ravi does...he shows up in the apartment in the middle with a WIFi router equipped with a LTE SIM card so that we can have Internet access.

c. He arranges late checkouts in Colombo and upgrade in Sirigaya Jungle.

d. He spent some hours with us, sitting and having a conversation, listening to feedback and just having a good yarn.

I have made a good friend and I would highly recommend Ravi and his team if you want to enjoy and cherish your Sir Lanka experience.

It was my first trip to Sri Lanka with my family, I was jittery and was worried if I had made the right choice? I landed there at Colombo airport and the welcome I got was overwhelming. The team to greet me and our local guide and SUV vehicle far exceeded what we saw on the pictures. The drive to our first-day hotel destination was about 4 hours. We stopped for food and the local guide took us to exquisite Sri Lankan food which was awesome.
The hotel room we had initially booked was as a standard room, but Ravi had got us an upgrade.
We spent a good time sightseeing in the local area and watched a traditional song and dance show. The best thing was that Ravi was in constant touch with the guide and was monitoring the progress remotely. It gave us a lot of comfort to see the coordination. While coming back we stopped at the elephant farm. It was not just looking at the elephant but our guides timing was so accurate that we watched them walk to their bath.
In Colombo again we got upgraded courtesy Lanka Tours. We reached and had a welcome meal arranged specially to fit our taste. We truly felt overwhelmed.
Our entire experience in Sri Lanka which was managed by Lanka tours was beyond words to describe. As souvenirs, they got my family pictures printed on fridge magnets and a tea mug
