How To Reach Mussoorie

Mussoorie is a famous hill station and is often referred to as the Queen of Hill Stations. It is located in the state of Uttarakhand. Since it receives many tourists throughout the year, tourism is a popular business. It is well connected to all the major cities around and is only 35 km away from the capital city of Dehradun. Here's how to reach Mussoorie.

The only major airport to get to Mussoorie is the Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun which is about 60 km away. It receives both national and international flights. However, one needs to be a quite well-planned as the airport does not have a lot of flights coming in from around the country. 

Many find Mussoorie to be a great drive away destination for a weekend getaway since it is quite well connected via roads. It is about a 9-hour drive from Delhi. You can opt for private tour operators as well as the state transport corporations buses that run to and from Mussoorie, connecting it with all neighboring states thoroughly. 

The only way to get to Mussoorie through rail lines is to reach the Dehradun Railway Station located just 35 km from the city. The train ride is smooth, comfortable and daily options are available. One can also enjoy the beautiful and bountiful scenic view of the terrain from the train. 

Since roads are the only way to travel within Mussoorie, there is no shortage of transport options available. One can board local buses or take cabs. Renting a car is a good bargain since the driver also acts as a local guide, taking you to the right spots and narrating the right legends.
