        Belur is an ancient temple town in Hassan district of Karnataka. The town sits about 35 km from Hassan, in the north-westerly direction, and about 200 km away from the capital city of Bengaluru. The magnificent sculptures and architectural wonders of the temples of Belur attract tourists from the world over. The town is small, but in close proximity to major towns, so that makes travelling to Belur a hassle free one. The easiest way to reach Belur would be to travel to Hassan by train and taking a cab on hire to Belur.

        The airport nearest to Belur is the Bajpe International Airport at Mangalore. Mangalore airport serves domestic flights to most Indian cities and International on the Abu Dhabi-Muscat, Kuwait, Bahrain and Doha routes. From Mangalore airport you can hire a cab to Belur, via Dharmasthala and Mudigere. The drive takes you past scenic landscapes of waterfalls, tea plantations and rivers. Belur is about 159 km from Mangalore.

        The closest rail stations to Belur are at Hassan (38 km), Sakleshpur (36 km) and Chikmagalur (25 km). These cities are well connected to Bengaluru, Mysore and Mangalore. You could travel by train to Hassan, Sakleshpur or Chikmagalur and take a bus or cab to Belur. You can deboard at Hassan and take a bus to Belur. The Hassan Bus Terminal is about 3 km from the Railway Station.

        You could drive to Belur from Bengaluru via Nelamangala, Kunigal, Chenarajapatna and Hassan. Or else take a bus, since there are regular KSRTC buses to Belur from Bengaluru, Hassan, Chikmagalur and Mysore.
