The closest airport to Chirmiri is Swami Vivekananda International Airport located in Raipur. This airport is distanced at 316.7 km from the center of the hill station and is quite far. It takes about 7 hours from there to reach the hill station.

 

By Road:

Chirmiri is accessible by road and there are several well maintained roads and highways that lead to it. You can drive there or you can take a bus operated by the government or private companies; these are cost efficient.

 

By Rail:

The main railhead that serves Chirmiri is Ambkapur Railway Station. This station is distanced at 99.4 km from the hill top and is 2.5 hours away. This is the most convenient way to get to Chirmiri and an inexpensive way as well. There is a railway station Chirmiri itself but it does not have many frequent trains running.

Summer (April-June):

Summers in Chirmiri are the hottest but not as much as the other nearby regions. Temperatures during this season range from 30°C to 38°C with it being cooler during nights. This is not the most recommended season to visit.

 

Monsoon (July-October):

The second best season to visit Chirmiri after winter is the monsoon season. Slight rains starting in the month of July with heavy rains in August and September, this is a great season to enjoy the green landscape and waterfalls. Temperatures in this season range from 20°C-28°C.

 

Winter (November-March):

One of the best times to visit a hill station is during winters; starting in the month of November and ending in March, this season has average temperatures ranging from 7°C to 15°C. The beauty of this place exemplifies during this season.
