By Air:
The nearest International airport is Guwahati which is 443 km from Ziro. You can either take a night train or bus to reach Ziro. The nearest airport is in Johan (Assam), which is 93 km from Ziro; the other airport is Lilabari which is at a distance of 123 km, but the connectivity to both the airport is erratic.
By Train:
The nearest railway station to Ziro is Naharalagun (100 km) and North Lakhimpur (117 km). You can either take a bus or taxi form these places to reach Ziro.
By Road:
Ziro is well connected by road. Direct private buses and Arunachal Pradesh state buses are available from Itanagar, North Lakhimpur and Guwahati to Ziro. The roads are well maintained and the travel should not be a problem. The bus journey will be a memorable one because you get to see the ravishing beauty of the place.

Summer (April-June):
Summers are the best time to visit Ziro. The temperature is between 6 to 20 degree Celsius, making it a good time for the visitors to visit the place.
Monsoon (July-October):
Monsoon is also pleasant in Ziro with temperature ranging between 6 to 19 degree. Ziro experiences maximum rainfall during this period and hence most outdoor activities may not be possible. But because of the rain, the scenic beauty of the place is enhanced. It is worth visiting this place during monsoon to experience beauty at its best. The music festival is also held in the month of September.
Winter (November-March):
Early winter i.e. early November may be a good time to visit Ziro to see the snow-capped mountains of the Ziro valley. Later the temperature dips to all-time low like -13 degree Celsius which is not a great time to visit the valley.

Talle valley wildlife sanctuary:
It is a 334 Sq. Km. wildlife sanctuary, 30 km from Ziro. It is also declared as a biodiversity zone. It is a beautiful forest range with many trees like pine, silver fir trees, ferns, orchids, bamboo and rhododendrons. Endangered animals like clouded leopard and leopards are also found here.
Tarin Fish farm:
Witness a unique way of cultivating rice and high altitude fish on the same farm. In this method, two crops of rice and one crop of fish are raised together. The agricultural methods of the Apatanis have drawn attention worldwide and it is responsible for sustaining the ecological balance in the valley. This has earned Ziro Valley the ‘UNESCO World Heritage Site’ tag.
Trekking in Ziro:
Ziro is the place to be in if you love adventure sports; the place has many trekking trails like the telly valley trek, Dolo Mando Trek, Hakhe Tari Trek etc. Which will leave you spellbound with its scenic beauty.
Camping in Ziro:

You should visit this Festival to know about the culture, hospitality and to taste their unique cuisine. Rice is the staple food of Arunachal Pradesh, but the way they cook rice is quite different. They cook the rice in hollow Bamboo over hot coal to get a different flavor. All other dishes made of Bamboo shoots, Pika Pila (a type of pickle mostly made by the Apatani tribe), Pehak (made from fermented soya bean and chilli) etc. are the side dishes you can enjoy with rice. They also serve a wide range of Momos. Don’t forget to enjoy the local rice Beer (Apong) and Millet Beer (Marua) when you visit Ziro.
