Tezu is easily accessible by air, railways and road, while cabs and buses are the significant modes of transportation here.
By Air:
Because of rough terrains, most of the airports in Arunachal Pradesh are typically small and cannot really handle a large number of flights. Tezu has a small airport which is usually in use for chartered flights and hence the nearest commercial airport is about 167km away in Dibrugarh. Dibrugarh has regular flight connectivity to Guwahati, Delhi and Itanagar. The state also has a helicopter service that operates daily between Naharlagun and Guwahati and also has connecting services to Tezu.
By Train:
The closest railway station to Tezu is at the New Tinsukia Junction which is roughly 122km away and easily accessible to other Indian cities. Tinsukia also services Parasuram Kunda.
By Road:
Tezu is roughly 21km from Parasuram Kunda. And 615km from Guwahati, with the closest town being Tinsukia. There are ample state transport and private bus services in addition to private taxis operational for road trips to Tezu.
Getting Around:
Easily accessible from Mohanbari and Tinsukia, Tezu can be reached by buses or taxis and even Guwahati. To move around the town, it is best to hire a shared Gypsy or Jeep or rent a private taxi for sightseeing tours.

One of the best times to visit Tezu is during winters which is typically the month of December through the month of February. The highest average temperature during the year is typically in May at 34°C and the lowest in December at 24°C. Tezu has an ideal Sun Vacation climate.
Summer (March-June):
Tezu is warm during summers with an average temperature that oscillates between 33°C and 10°C. Summer is a lovely time to go around the town and explore a number of adventure activities like mountaineering, trekking, river rafting, angling or fishing. March is usually wet 15 days in the month and the rest of the time weather’s pleasant enough to explore cycling or nature walks.
Monsoon (July-November):
Monsoon hits Tezu in July and lasts till November, however the weather’s quite pleasant and the average temperature stays between 17°C-7°C. However, owing to its close proximity to Assam, accessing Tezu through its neighboring state can be difficult because of torrential rainfall and bad road conditions, so its best to avoid travel during July through November.
Winter (December-February):
Winters are the best time of the year to visit and experience Tezu’s natural beauty. With temperatures going down to minus, days are comparatively warmer at 32°C. Tezu comes alive with its annual festivals when the village celebrates Makar Sankranti in January and Tamladu Puja in February and different tribes come together to share their joy.

Tezu has a local museum and handicrafts center where you can see exhibits of its rare art collections, manuscripts, traditional armor, costumes and ornaments. Since the small town is inhabited by the Mishmi and Zedkring Tribes, who are known for their excellent craftsmanship, their wares are good for souvenir shopping.
