The weather of Rajahmundry is tropical in nature and the city experiences three typical subcontinental seasons. The summers in the city can be extremely hot and therefore not a recommended time for visiting. Legends say that Ravana used to worship Lord Shiva at this temple and many people visit this temple and take a dip in the holy Godavari river.
