Being a country of many islands, the most convenient way to reach Maldives is only by air. However, if you have the time and budget for something more flamboyant and luxurious then take one of the International cruises that navigate the Indian Ocean.

Air:

You will be landing at the Male International Airport when you fly into Maldives. It is well connected to most major countries of South-East Asia, including India, China, Singapore and Sri Lanka. Maldives is also fairly well connected to the Gulf countries and Europe by direct and charterd flights. This is the only international airport of Maldives.

Rail:

No railway connectivity to Maldives is possible and neither are there rail lines internally.

The best time to visit Maldives is between November and April. This is peak tourist season so it might be a bit busy, although this is when you can do the most here - cultural activities, sightseeing and a variety of water sports. The monsoon runs from May to October, peaking around June. While Maldives is beautiful in the rainy season, most tourists sail away during these months, leaving the islands serene and a perfect hub for budget travelers and nature lovers.
