The temperatures in Madhya Pradesh can be extreme, varying from a scorching 47°C to a chilly 2°C. The best time to visit the place is from October to February when the temperatures are not too harsh and all the attractions can be enjoyed in comfort.

Summer (March-June):

The summers in Madhya Pradesh, like most of Northern and Central India, are scorching, and this is not an ideal time to visit the state. The dry and arid atmosphere is uncomfortably hot and touring the several temples, monuments, and caves on foot in this season would be a laborious affair.

Monsoon (July-October):

The rain arrives in Madhya Pradesh after an excruciating dry spell and is much welcomed by the people as well as wildlife. The land is covered with a lush green cover, given that two-thirds of the state is forested. Although the temperature is pleasant, it is not advisable for tourists to make a visit to the state because of the peak humidity levels.

Winter (November-February):

Winter is the best season to visit Madhya Pradesh because of the overall pleasant temperatures and low humidity. Even though the nights are colder than what is generally preferred, walking around the various attractions during the day is comfortable as can be expected.

Visit the glorious Gwalior Fort:

The grandeur of the Gwalior fort is incomparable to any other landmark in the state. The huge fort encompasses several temples, museums, and sculpture sites. It was built around the 10th century and has managed to stand the test of time and preserve the culture and architecture of the era.

Take a tour of Khajuraho temples:

The temples in the magnificent complex of Khajuraho are rare gems in the heart of the state. The temples have been here for thousands of years and display beautiful and intricate carvings throughout. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is famous for its erotic sculptures and nagara-style architectural symbolism.

Sail in Bhedaghat:

Located in the Jabalpur district of Madhya Pradesh, Bhedhaghat is a scenic town on the banks of the river Narmada. It is a memorable experience to see the graceful river wind through marble rocks about seven floors in height. The mountains are known to change shape and unravel before your very eyes as you sail along the quiet river.

Explore Pachmarhi Caves:

You get a spectacular view of the entire Pachmarhi area from the site of these caves. Well manicured gardens surround the area and the historic significance makes this a must-visit place. It is a beautiful cluster of rock-cut caves which has developed into quite a picnic spot to spend leisure time. You can also visit a quaint nursery located below the caves to appreciate local flora.
